APEC

Brief Intro

The ABTC (APEC Business Travel Card) allows business travelers pre-cleared, facilitated short-term entry to participating member economies.  Card holders also benefit from faster immigration processing on arrival via access to fast-track entry and exit through special APEC lanes at major airports in participating economies.  Cardholder is NOT required to individually apply for visa or entry permit each time he/she travel to any of the participating APEC economies unless the specific country imposed certain entry requirement for example during Covid-19 pandemic.

Eligible Applicants:

  • Citizens of Malaysia holding a valid passport who are;
  • Business entity must be well-established and well-credentialed in terms of its international trade and investment activities and registered with Companies Commission of Malaysia;
  • Applicant’s organisation is a member of associations/chambers (those interested to apply through KKCCCI, must apply for KKCCCI membership);
  • Applicant’s position is significantly senior;
  • Senior executive level business people (eg. Chairman, Board of Directors, CEO);
  • Required/need to travel frequently to APEC economies for trade and investment purposes.
  • Professionals being persons who possess necessary professional qualifications, experience and/or expertise which have been duly recognised by the professional bodies in Malaysia and registered with those respective professional bodies; and are carrying out relevant professional activities in APEC economies;
  • Senior Government Officials who need to travel frequently to APEC economies;
  • Senior office bearers of trade and industry organisations and professional bodies.

Documents Required

  1. Original copy of the filled-in ABTC application form with signature and passport photo (blue background) and must have correct email and telephone number of applicant (Application form can obtain from KKCCCI Secretariat)
  2. Certified true copy of applicant’s Malaysian IC
  3. Scanned copy of the biodata page of the passport (passport to have more than 3 and a half years validity)
  4. Copy of applicant’s All Passport Inside Pages that have been stamped as proof of frequent travel
  5. Original copy of SSM Report (Obtain from SSM website)
  6. Letter (on company letterhead) from the employer in support of the ABTC application to Immigration Department (reference letter can obtain from KKCCCI Secretariat)
  7. Letter (on company letterhead) from the employer to ACCCIM requesting for ABTC Support letter (reference letter can obtain from KKCCCI Secretariat)
  8. Company’s profile and job’s description to prove personal/company actively involved in business that require to travel frequently to the overseas (reference letter can obtain from KKCCCI Secretariat)
  9. A fee of RM35.00 will be charged by ACCCIM.  Cheques should be made in favour of “The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Malaysia”

Approved Applicant will receive reference number

Print Card

  • The card can only be printed at Putrajaya Immigration when you have all the 19 countries with pre-cleared status for entry (would take within 3 – 6 months or more). Applicants who have LESS than 19 countries’ approval are NOT allowed to print the card.
  • Eligible Applicant can direct walk-in to Malaysian Immigration Headquarters in Putrajaya for card collection according to guideline in ANNEX 1 – Information on Card Collection and may proceed the payment at Level 3 Department Visa, Pas & Permit
