Program Imunisasi Industri COVID-19 Kerjasama Awam-Swasta (PIKAS)
“Program Imunisasi Industri COVID-19 Kerjasama Awam-Swasta” (PIKAS) is an initiative of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) launched as Phase 4 of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program (PICK) to accelerate the country’s vaccination rate.
Through PIKAS, the Government will provide vaccines for free. The private sector will provide Vaccination Centres (PPVs), including the involvement of private medical services, with the PPV management costs fully borne by the private sector to save government allocations.
There are two types of PPV under PIKAS, namely General Use PPV involving convention and exhibition centres, including hotels, while On-Site PPV involves vaccination at factory premises. Through this programme, employers have to fully bear the cost of vaccination of employees and they are not allowed to deduct employee salaries.
